Me, Harlod and Kumar Say Thanks.

I am sure that all of you know about our donor by now- since as a HYPER-COMMUNICATIVE planning team we are up in your email box like the paparazzi on Jen Aniston, BUT never the less I wanted to take this moment to express my gratitude. (And for the love of God leave Jen alone...I love you JEN.)

So here I am sitting in the middle of the 59th Street Bridge between Queens and Manhattan. It's approximately -1 with the windchill. I am working on latest incarnation of Harold & Kumar get high and try to drive somewhere simple, get lost, get high some more, and end up in New York City. Sometimes I can't believe I got an ART degree. Did I mention it was 1:00 in the morning? I am holding a freaking target the size of my torso that apparently doubles as a sail in windy conditions, trying to count to 1000 to keep my mind off the fact that I might freeze to death or blow away to my death in the next 10-26 seconds. When my little phone vibrates in my pocket and it's an email from Emilie stating that we had an anonymous donation to cover all credit card fees for our tiny little charity party.

The world is suddenly looking up. I stopped counting to 1000, and started thinking how a little thing like this makes a big difference. Now everyone can have their daily latte and come to Boycott Water! Now maybe more people can come to the party which will be more fun and help more thirsty people. Now maybe we can drop the ticket prices in conjunction with the support! Now maybe I can quit internet dating!

WHOA! Now let's not get too out of hand- but really we(the planning team) have made all of the above possible thanks to: CLANDESTINE PERSON. You are our very own Secret Santa. We have started to forge ahead with a few adjustments minus the quitting of internet dating. There is nothing quite like sifting through the never ending pile of fat guys, or IT guys, or guys with their shirts off, or a combination of all of the above (yes there are lots of the fat IT guys with their shirts off) during the holidays. They message me often. And to think that internet dating is just another representation of the general public.

I will sleep well tonight as I have been reminded that life is not about finding the right internet Guido for me, but that life is about giving back. It is about being there for Harold & Kumar, even though you think it might kill you. Even though you went to art school and the stoner in your film class made it big before you because he knows how to make movies about POT. It is about paying it forward. And working hard no matter what. And giving to something, or working for something when you know it will never give back.

So thank you. From me. And I am sure from many others. It's easy. It's kind. And you really didn't have to, but you did anyway.

I will pour one out for you on NYE.

To our clandestine donor. You rock. From me, Harlold & Kumar. You got me through the night.
